Artist statement

 

For my work, Installation art is at the centre. The main reason for choosing this as a form of media towards my subject matter, is to provoke a number of ways that any individual or group at any given time can perceive and appreciate it, for example a tangible object can create a representation of an open window/door or the abyss into the unknown/unpredictable sense of grandeur/simplicity amongst the chaos/pandemonium.

There are three ‘states’ of  psychological/social engagements, which I have intended to depict and also produce a response to such as; the physical, mental and the emotional stabilities, in order to set the foundations of representing a form of visual artistic framework. 

 

This will subjectively recreate one of the many responses given for example; disturbia, serenity, or misplacements. I also intend to represent a physical and mental stability between both myself and my audience. From physical interaction and engagements with my work or mental connections that may take place during the time frame given to the problem solving, recollecting or configuring of an image or a subject matter/feeling with the individuals themselves.   Therefore, this will lend itself to my work with the selective aesthetics in relation to the openness and range of responses given and taken away or controlled by myself, within my work.
